Community for all
Community for the 21st Century
Too often 'Faith' conflates compassion, conviction, values and purpose with religious belief that is devoid of evidence, reason or justification; the negative and superstitious elements of religion. At this point, in the 21st century, mankind can do much better, by removing religion from culture and community.
Over the last century or so community has become fractured, possibly due to the drift away religion, and the move towards a more multi-cultural and multi-faith society, resulting in a lack of integration due to the mutual exclusivity of the different faiths.
We propose a change in the community perspective breaking the link between religion and community.
In England the proposal is to reform the Established Church, the Church of England, so that its funds and assets are returned to the people allowing the whole community to enjoy the benefits and services free from religion. Similar models could be followed in other countries.
Although primarily kept as places of peaceful contemplation and reflection the beautiful churches could be made accessible to all for the traditional services of weddings and funerals, but also opened up for the enjoyment of art, music, theatre as well as discussions on topics as diverse as science, philosophy, psychology, the meaning of life and the environment.
Bring back the churches to the heart of our community! Free the community from superstition and religion!
